SURYA MUDRA

SURYA MUDRA
"Surya" means "sun". Sun is the source of energy. Virtue of its energy is present in all living beings. Surya mudra attracts energy of the Sun.

TECHNIQUE:
Surya Mudra

Sitting in Padmasana bring ring finger under thump finger

Touch the third (ring) finger to the pad of thumb.

Press the thumb gently over this third (ring) finger.
Surya Mudra


Keep the other fingers aloof.

Practice it daily morning and evening for 15 minutes.

BENEFITS:

This mudra decreases Earth element in body.

It cures mental heaviness.

It also reduces body fat.

Both obesity and mental tension will reduce.

The mudra is good for weight loss.

VARUNA MUDRA

VARUNA MUDRA
"Varuna" means "Water". It balances the water element in the body. It balances the water content and prevents all diseases which come due to lack of water. When water level comes down in our body, our blood become impure, Varuna mudra rectifies this by regular practice. Apart from this, this mudra is very effective in eradicating water born diseases and removes dryness in our body. Those suffering from sprain can also benefit from Varuna mudra.

TECHNIQUE:

Varuna Mudra
Touch the fore part of the smallest finger to the fore part of thumb.


Varuna Mudra
Keep other three fingers stretched out.


It has no specific time duration and one can practice it according to their time.

VAAYU MUDRA

VAAYU MUDRA

"Vaayu" means "Air". This mudra helps balance the air element in the body. Keep the index finger on the base of the thumb and press with thumb keeping the other three fingers straight. It prevents all the diseases that occur due to the imbalance of the air.

TECHNIQUE:
Vaayu Mudra

Fold the index finger (fore finger) on the pad of thumb.

Press the forefinger gently on the pad.

Vaayu Mudra
Keep the other fingers aloof.

The practice of this mudra for 45 minutes reduces the severity of the disease in 12 to 24 hours. For better results practice it for two months.

BENEFITS:

Helps in all nervous ailments.

Helpful in pains and aches.

Specific mudra for patients of Cerebral Palsy and Parkinson's ailment.

PRAN VAAYU MUDRA

PRAN VAAYU MUDRA
It acts like a store house of prana or energy and so it is also called the “Glorious Mudra”

TECHNIQUE
Pran Vaayu Mudra

One should sit in Sukhasan or Padmasana.
Pran Vaayu Mudra
This Mudra is formed by joining the tip of the little finger, Anamika and the tip of the ring finger with the tip of the thumb.

The other two fingers are kept straight.

It can be done by both the hands at the same time.

Rest the hands on the knees by keeping the elbow straight.

It should be done empty stomach preferably.

To derive benefits out of it one must do it for a total of 45 minutes in 24 hours.

It may be done in more than 2 breaks by keeping the mudra intact for at least 10 minutes at a point of time.

BENEFITS:

It is highly recommended in case of poor, blurred vision, locked pupils.

It enhances the absorption of vital nutrients and vitamins from the diet, boosting the energy levels of the body.

It also increases the confidence level.

SAMANA VAAYU MUDRA

Samana-Vayu is situated in the abdomen with its energy centered in the navel. The flow of Samana-Vayu moves from the periphery of the body to the center. Samaan Vaayu Mudra regulates and balances that energy.

TECHNIQUE
Samaan Vaayu Mudra

Sitting comfortably on sukhasan one may perform this mudra at the time of eating food.

It is done by joining the entire finger tips with thumb tip.

One may perform it for 10-15 minutes otherwise daily before or after meals.

BENEFITS:

Helps in digesting the food properly
Reduces the formation of gases and acids in the body.
Balances the Panch vaayu.
Cures the liver dysfunction.
It also increases the confidence level.

UDAAN VAAYU MUDRA

Udaan Vaayu mudra or hands and feet mudra regulates energy in all parts of body.

TECHNIQUE

Join the tips of forefinger, middle and ring finger with the tip of thumb, while the little finger is separate. This forms the Udaan Vaayu Mudra.

One must perform this mudra in a seated pose whether on chair or on ground.

BENEFITS:


Develops the flow of energy and Chetna (alertness) in all the parts of body. This is one of the main functions of this Mudra.


Cures many kinds of problems of the chest and navel area.


A person who thinks he is weak, by practice of this Mudra can generate new vitality in his body.


Practice of this mudra helps in developing the natural glow of the skin; and also overcomes various other skin problems.


If the power of speech has been lost or has become defective, this mudra will help a lot.

APAAN MUDRA

APAAN MUDRA
Apaan mudra or mudra of digestion plays an important role in our health as it regulates the excretory system.

TECHNIQUE
Apaan Mudra

Sitting comfortably in sukhasan or on chair perform this mudra by joining the tip of middle two fingers i.e. longest finger and the ring finger with the thumb by keeping the rest of the two fingers straight.

Perform it empty stomach and keep the mudra for a total for 45 minutes in a day at a stretch or in breaks.
Apaan Mudra


One can perform this mudra in combination with other mudras like Apaan vaayu mudra for more benefits.

BENEFITS:

For the purification of the body to release the negative pressure.

Excellent for purifying the blood and also beneficial in case of scanty flow during menstruation.
Helps release all the excess and unwanted fluid out of the body like water retention and urine retention.

Helps increasing the sweating in case of blockage of pores of skin or hypo activity of sweat glands.

Should not be practiced during diarrhea and vomiting.

It will not help much in prostrate gland and kidney stones.

It is also excellent in charging the body with prana.
