Padma Asana |
Meditation in yoga is always recommended in certain poses or asanas. These are mostly poses in which the triangular or pyramid flow of nerve current enables the Kundalini to awaken from dormant state and rise up piercing the Chakras. Pyramid therapy is based on the concept of polarity where it forms an octagon with 53.57 degree at every angle which induces rhythm & balance in the body and hence meditation happens i.e. the energy is channelized in the whole body. The meditative poses help in keeping the body & mind stable & free from tension.
The following are the main meditative poses:
1) Sukhasan (Easy Pose)
2) Vajrasan (Lightning Bolt Pose)
3) Siddhasan (Adept's Pose)
4) Padmasan (Lotus Pose)
2) Vajrasan (Lightning Bolt Pose)
3) Siddhasan (Adept's Pose)
4) Padmasan (Lotus Pose)
The most important thing in all these poses or asanas is posture & breathing. For a good alignment of various joints & muscles it is important to know the technique of sitting in Meditation. In order to keep the spine straight and lower limbs free from the weight of the body, use a Cushion, a good fiber cushion. Sit on the angle of the cushion, so that the knees are wide open and the weight of the body is exactly in the centre and not on the knees and spinal cord. It ensures a good supply of blood to the lower limbs and tailbone is not buried under the pressure of the seat muscles.
